Panama City has best quality of life

Panama's capital is the most habitable city in Central America, according to Mercer's 2016 Quality of Living Ranking.

Central America does not rank high by international standards, with Panama placing 95th out of 230 cities.

In Latin America, however, Panama is in fourth position, while Montevideo has the continent's best quality of life.

In the region, San José is second, while Tegucigalpa is last.

Vienna placed first globally, while Baghdad is the world's least attractive city.

The study used ten criteria, including public safety, education, entertainment and transportation (numbers in brackets indicate the overall position of each country in the global rank).
