Panama City's east side joins industry boom

Panama City's East section has seen an increase in investments in businesses such as malls, housing and industrial projects.

Businesses in the area have chosen to export their products in order to maintain growth, as figures show Panama's exports dropped 2.7 percent during the first five months of the year, compared to the same period last year.

Refrigeración Internacional, which specializes in making industrial refrigerators, now covers national demand, as well as exporting some 75 refrigerators to Costa Rica and Nicaragua last year.
