Panama construction debt causes headaches

Panamanian banks have shown concern over the construction sector's rising bad debt.
The main cause of worry is the group of subcontractors working on the Panama Canal expansion, economic analyst Ernesto Bazán said.
Last year, the construction sector's bad debts grew 117 percent in one month, from $23 million in September to $50 million in October.
