Panama convenes extraordinary sessions to ratify free trade accord with Peru. No ratification needed in Lima

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

The National Assembly of Panama launched a period of extraordinary sessions to ratify the free trade agreement with Peru. The period of extraordinary sessions will last until December 16.

The trade accord was signed on March 25 but it needs the ratification of the Panamanian legislators. In Peru it only needs the ministerial signature.

Panama imports about $40 million of goods from Peru and exports $1 million.
