Panama cuts 2014 inflation forecast

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

Panama's Ministry of Economy cut down its inflation forecast for this year from 4 to 3 percent.

A significant drop in food prices that began in July, after an emergency price control measure was implemented, is among the maing factors that led to the decision.

Panama's inflation reached 2.5 percent at the end of September, remaining unchanged for the second straight month, said Rogelio Alvarado, director of Economic Analysis at the Ministry of Economy.
