Panama energy projects paralyzed

Problems facing the Barro Blanco hydro project in Panama have been compounded by a law that has suspended three other hydro schemes and the temporary suspension of plans for wind farms.

Chamber of Commerce officials say that they are worried by the legal fragility of the projects and fear that foreign investors in the country will want to stay away.
