Panama exports 70 percent of pineapples to Europe

High demand for tropical fruits has made pineapples the sixth most exported product in Panama, after bananas.

Pineapple exports earned $31.6 million last year.

This year´s expectations are positive and it is expected that the increase in the export business will continue and exceed forecasts.

Pineapples have their largest sales market in European countries, with 70 percent of exports are sent to those destinations.
