Panama faces growing shortage of labor for companies

Monday, April 16, 2012

Panama's unemployment rate is currently 4.4 per cent and is expected to decrease further this year, as companies scramble to find skilled labour.

Companies in Panama are stealing employees from each other as economic growth in that country reaches 10 per cent for a second straight year.

Firms are scrambling to find skilled labour, provoking “a high degree of uncertainty” on consumer prices, the International Monetary Fund said in an April 10 report.
