Panama fails test on fiscal transparency
Thursday, October 27, 2011
Panama’s government asked the OECD Global Forum to reconsider its decision to include the country in the list of those that fail to provide fiscal transparency.
The Economy ministry recalled that, since 2008, Panama has followed a strategy of promoting economic development that defends the country’s good name by avoiding the OECD’s discriminatory lists.
Panama is one of nine jurisdictions that failed the first filter imposed by the Global Forum on Fiscal Transparency, according to the last reports passed in Paris.
