Panama generates 6.2 percent more energy

Monday, September 23, 2013

Panama generated 6.2 percent more energy from January to May this year compared to the same period in 2012.

Available electricity in the period was up to 3.46 billion kilowatts, from 3.36 billion in the same five months of last year.

Economic growth, particularly in the country's capital, has increased energy demand this year, said Fernando Masriscano, director of the state-owned electricity firm, Etesa.
