Wednesday, March 2, 2011

Panama's economic growth more than doubled to 7.5 percent in 2010, marking one of the fastest rates in Latin America.

Port activity, air transport, tourism and commerce in Panama's large Caribbean free trade area spurred growth after the economy expanded 3.2 percent in 2009.

Growth rose to 8.7 percent in the final quarter of 2010 from 5.4 percent a year earlier.
