Panama has wind in its sails as regional energy leader

Panama will become one of the largest generators of wind energy in Central America.

Among the various projects currently underway, the Penonomé wind farm stands out for being the largest in the region.

The project is being developed by Unión Eólica Panameña, UEP, a subsidiary of Spain's Unión Eólica Española. UEP is in charge of three other projects which, when finished, will have an installed capacity of some 330 megawatts.
