Panama highway takeover to be completed in May

The nationalization of Panama’s two expressways is moving ahead and could be wrapped up in the next three weeks.

A  plan approved by  the Cabinet calls for the expansion of the Corredor Sur  to six lanes and the reclamation of 40 hectares of seabed between Punta Pacifica and the Atlapa Convention Center which will be sold off to developers to pay for the expansion.

The anticipated sale money money will also be used to extend the Corredor Norte to the community of 24 de Diciembre.
