Panama hoping for August start-up for $600 million Changuinola I hydro scheme

Panama is meeting rapid growth in energy demand as a result of its breakneck speed in the economy as a whole.

Hence the urgency of bringing on stream the $600 million Changuinola I, hydroelectric scheme with its 223 megawatts capacity.

The scheme is now 90 percent complete and will become operational by August of this year.
