Panama invests $1 billion in 16 new hydro projects

Panama has begun developing 16 hydroelectric projects with a total of investment of over $1 billion.
These private sector projects are expected to be completed by 2015 and add a 700-megawatt capacity to the country’s power grid.
Panama is facing steadily increasing power demand due to its economic development.
