Panama is BlackBerry country as monthly packages offered by operators at $30

A BlackBerry is not only something for business people and other high flyers, in Panama. BlackBerry rental packages are on offer from cellular operators at $30 a month.

 

Mara Samaniego, marketing manager of Digicel, said that a BlackBerry boom hit Panama in 2008. The brand now accounts for 20 percent of the country’s cellular market.

 

Almost all the Blackberry users have long-term contracts in which the phone itself is free.
