Panama leads Central America in economic growth

Latin America will maintain its predicted growth of 3.7 percent in its economy this year, according to a report by Economic Commission for Latin America, Cepal.

Cepal maintains its predictions despite uncertainty in the economies of Europe and the United States, with whom Central America has important trade relations.

Panama is number one in the region, with an expected growth of 8 percent this year, followed by Costa Rica, with 5 percent expected growth, the report states.
