Panama life insurance sector grows 10 percent

The number of policies in the life insurance sector in Panama grew 10 percent in the first half of the year, compared to the same period last year.

The life insurance sector is expected to grow on the exploitation of micro-markets, experts say.

"The idea is to launch low-cost products to create a microinsurance culture in the country's middle and working classes," saud Luis Della Togna, Superintendent of insurances in Panama.
