Panama Metro winner to be between FCC and Impregilo

Panama’s government is to announce today the result of the tender for the contract of the first line of the Metro in the nation’s capital. 
 
The contract is expected to be worth $1.5 billion. President Ricardo Martinelli will be in charge of today’s ceremony at which the bids are to be opened.
 
Two consortiums are in the running. One consists of Spanish construction company FCC and Brazil’s Odebrecht. The rival consortium is Grupo Italiano Metro Panamá, led by Impregilo.
