Panama moves forward in special coffee sales

Panama's special coffee reached an average price of $34.6 per pound this week, during an electronic auction that sold 50 lots of coffee for $223,000.
The auction represents a significant step forward for Panama's coffee sector, as prices surpassed those of previous auctions, said Ricardo Koyner, president of the Specialty Coffee Association of Panama.
The best priced coffee in the auction was Geisha Natural, which sold for $107 per pound.
