Panama: pensioners' paradise

Scenic beauty, friendly people and various benefits for seniors citizens, are other factors, which contribute to Panama's ranking as the second-best retirement destination in the world, according to the latest index of International Living.

Among the Central American countries that appear on the list, Honduras and Belize were last.

Globally, Ecuador came first with 91 points, followed by Panama and Malaysia.

The annual ranking includes the top 22 retirement destinations in the world (figures in brackets express rating, from 0 to 100).
