Panama port activity grows 14.4 percent

Panamanian ports grew 14.4 percent in the first quarter this year, according to the country's maritime authority.

In that period, ports handled 1.6 million TEU containers, while in the same period last year the ports handled 988,000.

The results have generated optimism in Panama's logistics and transport sector, after reporting an 8.9 percent drop last year.
