Panama receives $1.41 billion in foreign investment

Foreign direct investment in Panama in the first half of the year came to $1.41 billion, up from $1.21 billion in the same period of last year.
At this pace, investment for the full year will beat the $2.36 billion recorded in 2010.
Some 42 percent of the total in the first half represented re-investment of profits. Most of the reinvestment came from free-zone companies and banks.
