Panama’s big housing expo reflected contraction in the real-estate sector

Construction permits and pre-mixed concrete production both fell drastically this year in Panama.

Both indicators show that the real-estate sector has still to recover from the international economic crisis.

An example of the problem was illustrated by the Capac Expo Habitat 2010. Upscale housing projects were put in the shade by affordable housing schemes.
