Panama’s electricity plans amount to more than $4.3 billion over six years

Panama’s electricity sector expects major investments over the coming six years in wind power, hydroelectricity and distribution.

The sector projects $4.377 billion in investments between next year and 2016, with hydroelectric schemes taking a lion’s share of $2.6 billion.

Wind power is expected to bring investment of $910 million, while conventional power plants will attract only $27 million.
