Panama’s food exports fall for second year amid lack of interest and poor planning

Friday, February 4, 2011

A lack of interest and planning has led to a second year of declines in Panama’s food exports, including melons and watermelon.

From January to November 2010, exports fell 9.4 percent from the same period in 2009.

From 2008 to 2010, export value fell from $1.1 billion to $679 million, a 38.2 percent drop.
