Panama's logistics sector hit by Canal delays

Delays in the Panama Canal expansion project have hit the country's logistics sector.

The delays, caused by a dispute with the contractor responsible for the project, GUPC, and workers' strikes, has caused the logistics sector to lose some $700 million, according to authorities.

Panama currently has several projects aimed at improving its logistics sector, such as building new ports on the Atlantic and Pacific coasts and industrial parks.
