Panama’s ports surpass Brazil

Panama’s main ports, Balboa on the Pacific coast, and Colón on the Caribbean side, have together surpassed Brazil’s Santos, in San Paolo State, having shipped more containers in 2010, Costa Rica’s Caribbean port of Moín was in second place.
Figures refer to thousands of TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent containers) shipped last year, according to a report by the Economic Commission for Latin America (Comisión Económica Para América Latina).
