Panama sees political climate in the United States warms toward free trade agreement

Panama sees an improvement in the US political climate that could seal the free trade agreement between the two countries early this year.

Roberto Henríquez, the trade minister, said that a Republican-controlled US Congress “opens a window of opportunities” for all the US pending trade agreements.

But the minister added that everything continues to depend on the will of the US president, Barack Obama.
