Panama suspends tender won by Odebrecht

The tender of a branch line of the Panama Metro that was awarded to Odebrecht and its partner, Spain's FCC, has been suspended following a protest by a losing consortium of OHL of Spain and Portugal's Mota-Engil. Odebrecht won with a bid of $102.9 million.

The claim was made "because of omissions for form and content by the evaluating commission of the technical proposals, the opening of the envelopes and the equation of the economic proposals.".

OHL and Mota-Engil have asked the government to assign a new committee and annul the previous result of the tender.
