Panama to boost shrimp exports to US and Europe

Panama has a projected increase of 30 per cent this year for its exports of shrimp to Europe and America.

Shrimp farmers in the Panamanian provinces of Veraguas, Los Santos, Herrera, and Cocle are ready to harvest and start shrimp to send to markets in Europe and America.

During the first quarter of this year, exports of shrimp from the province of Cocle increased and in April the area exported about 500,000 pounds, generating sales of about $3.15 million.
