Thursday, May 19, 2011

Panama has decided to build a new airport for the central provinces at Río Hato at a cost of $70 million.

A tender will be held this year. This week the terms will be announced.

Studies by the Andean Development Corporation indicate that Río Hato is the most viable location because of it existing infrastructure. The hard shoulder of the runway at the former US base remains in good shape.
