Panama to expand region's broadband network
Panama will work on expanding Central America's broadband connectivity during its turn as chair of the regional telecommunications committee.
"Broadband is a highly useful tool for the region's development" said the new president of the committee, Zelmar Rodríguez, who replaced El Salvador's Luis Méndez yesterday during the committee's yearly gathering.
During the event, Méndez said the plans also include reviewing long distance phone tariffs and roaming throughout Central America.
