Monday, July 2, 2012

By next year, Panama will have Central America's biggest wind farm and one of the largest in Latin America.

Rafael Pérez, the director of Spanish-owned Unión Eólica Panameña, said that the farm will cover 19,000 hectares and requires a $440 million investment.

It will have a capacity of 220 megawatts, double the power of its competitors in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Honduras, he added.
