Panama to host preparatory meetings for United Nations climate change confab

Panama will host the preparatory meetings in September and October of the United Nations Climate Change conference, known as COP-17. The conference itself will be held in South Africa later this year.

The United Nations accepted Panama’s offer to host the meetings.

Some 4,000 people are expected to gather for the meetings.
