Panama to invite bids for oil drilling this year
Panama announced that bids will be invited for exploration of possible oil fields in Darién province, near the Colombian border.
The hydrocarbons director of the industry ministry, Renza Samudio, said that terms of the tender will be announced this year for exploration off the Pacific Coast and on land.
Samudio emphasized that seismic studies have shown promise but drilling is needed to confirm the potential.
