Panama will soon invite bids for the construction of a third major port on the Pacific side of the Canal. The new port will cover 112 hectares.
On the Pacific, it will compete with Panama Ports Company, a unit of Hutchinson Port Holdings, located in Balboa, and with PSA Panama International Terminal, recently constructed in Rodman.
The new port forms part of the government’s plans to develop cargo-handling capacity.
