In an effort to join the countries that make up the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development’s (OECD) “white list”, Panama is continuing its mission to dissociate itself from its status as a tax haven.
The government plans to sign a total of five double taxation agreements between now and October this year.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that Vice President and Foreign Minister Juan Carlos Varela is on a tour of Europe to sign the five treaties with Italy, Spain, France, Portugal, and Luxembourg.
