Panama trade pact is up to Obama, says Martinelli

Friday, December 17, 2010

Ricardo Martinelli, the president of Panama, said that all US objections to a free trade treaty with Panama have now been resolved.

Approval by the Congress is only a matter of internal politics and the will of President Barack Obama, Martinelli said.

Following the new US trade pact with South Korea, the pacts on Panama and Colombia are sure to be approved soon, Martinelli added.
