People are thriving in Central America, Gallup reveals

A person scanning the news headlines that come out of Central America could be forgiven for coming away with negative views of the region. Stories about corruption in daily life, refugees and crime – including drug and human trafficking – dominate international news media coverage.

A recently released report, however, challenges such negative themes. People from Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua countries say satisfaction from their lives has improved dramatically during the past 10 years, according to a report from Gallup.
