Monday, June 27, 2011

The PepsiCo Foundation announced it will invest $2 million in projects that offer economic sustainability to poor rural communities in Guatemala.

The company’s allies in the project are the United States Agency for International Development and the Save the Children Fund.

The program will provide training for small farmers in harvesting potatoes. Frito Lay, a PepsiCo subsidiary, buys 67 percent of all the potatoes grown in Guatemala.
