Perenco snaps up Petrofac oil and gas operations in Mexico

Anglo.French oil and gas producer Perenco has bought 49 percent of the operations in Mexico of Petrofac of the United Kingdom.

Perenco will pay a $200 million down payment on the deal and $170 million on completion.

Perenco has operated in Guatemala since 2001 when it has been extracting crude from the Xan field in the Petén region. The Petrofac operations in Mexico amount to  four onshore fields in the south of the country.
