Peru and Central America hold third round of talks on free trade accord

The third round of negotiations on a free trade agreement between Peru and the Central American countries of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala and Panama started on Monday and will run until Friday in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The first round of trade talks was held in Lima from November 8 to 12 last year and resulted in further rapprochement and common methodologies to be used.

The second round took place in Panama City from January 17 to 21 and resulted in important agreements on competition policy, trade remedies, technical barriers to trade and dispute resolution.
