Pork consumption up in El Salvador

Monday, November 3, 2014

Pork consumption in El Salvador grew from 1.98 kilos per year per person to 3.25 kilos from 2011 to 2013, according to the country's pork farmers' association.

The institution has focused its efforts in dispelling common myths surrounding pork consumption, as well as highlighting its advantages.

Another factor that contributed to growth was the steady prices the meat reached after a sanitary crisis in the U.S. and Canada.
