Pre-paid health care is new option in Costa Rica

Right now in Costa Rica, families and businesses are able to prevent ill-health with relative ease thanks to the medical assistance of at least six providers of pre-paid medicine.

Since late last year, state telephony operator Kölbi has been offering the service to its customers, while several clinics and companies are presenting several options in a growing market.

Recent growth has emerged in the corporate sector where bosses pay for their employees and, depending on the plan, can also include cover for their families.
