PriceClub and Sam's go hand-to-hand in battle for Costa Rica's warehouse club market

Membership-only warehouse supermarkets PriceSmart and Sam's Club, both baed in the United States, will open new stores in San José, Costa Rica.

PriceSmart announced yesterday its plans to buy approximately 16 thousand square meters in La Unión, where it will build its sixth store in Costa Rica.

Sam's Club, part of Walmart, plans to open its first store in Costa Rica, although the exact location is not yet clear.
