PriceSmart finds Central American markets are building momentum for growth

Consumer confidence in the United States is finally picking up, but in Central America markets served by US-based PriceSmart, it’s been gaining momentum for much of the past year.

Stores in countries such as Panama, Guatemala and Costa Rica are also faring better than those in Caribbean nations that are far more dependent on tourism. The company’s membership rolls have continued to rise, and show that the concept is attracting more people from a lower income bracket.
