Private capital to play key role in Costa Rica public works

Monday, December 17, 2018

Private-sector business leaders will have plenty of opportunities to take part in the development of highways, bridges, airports, hospitals and schools by means of public-private alliances.

Businesses will be asked to back projects that the government cannot afford because of the huge fiscal deficit that it faces.
Some of the projects in the National Development Plan that runs to 2022 will be developed by alliances. These include the key San José.Ramón highway.

So too will projects such as those to combat climate change, poverty waste disposal and even traffic congestion.
