ProNicaragua aims for $600 million in foreign direct investment this year

Friday, January 21, 2011

Foreign direct investment in Nicaragua is likely to rise to $600 million in 2011, said Javier Chamorro, chief executive of the ProNicaragua promotion agency.

Calculations of the amount of last year’s investment have still to be included, but all the indications are that the total will come to $500 million.

Chamorro believes that $1 billion in foreign direct investment is a realistic goal for later years.
