Quakes make IMF team postpone Nicaragua trip

An International Monetary Fund team scheduled to visit Nicaragua next week postponed its trip due to a red alert from a recent series of earthquakes.

Bayardo Arce, presidential councillor for economic affairs, had announced the arrival of the team weeks ago, and that it would visit the country after the Easter holiday period.

However, the visit is uncertain due to the earthquakes, the Fund's Nicaraguan representative Juan Fernando Zalduendo said.
